In his later years, Feroz Khan, one of the most well-known performers from Hindi cinema in the 1970s and 1980s, did not feature in many films. However, he decided to play a little part in Anees Bazmee's Welcome (2007), which turned him into one of his most remembered characters. Bazmee disclosed in a recent interview that Feroz Khan most likely knew by then that he was terminally ill, but he kept it a secret from everyone. 2009 saw Feroz's passing following his battle with lung cancer. Feroz wasn't very excited about working at Welcome at first, but Anees revealed that he eventually consented. Anees revealed in a conversation with Lehren Retro that Feroz asked him to dinner following their viewing of No Entry, which also starred his son Fardeen.
